Man Utd dismiss Real Madrid swap claims

Manchester United have dismissed talk of a swap involving Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid pair Robinho and Sergio Ramos.

Marca reported that United had sounded out the Spanish champions about a combined £80million transfer that would smooth the path for Ronaldo to go the other way.

But United, who have already reported Real to FIFA over their behaviour regarding their pursuit of the Portugal star, were infuriated by the report and have dismissed such a proposal out of hand.

A United spokesman said: "The reports are complete garbage. There is no change in our position and Cristiano Ronaldo is still a Manchester United player."
