Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic says they deserve greater recognition for the way they've dominated the Premier League this season.
United became the first team in English top-flight history to win 25 of their first 30 games with victory against Sunderland last weekend.
Sir Alex Ferguson's team will open up an 18-point gap on City if they win the derby on Monday.
"This is a great achievement," said Vidic. "If you have those stats you cannot argue.
"I think we've played well this year, we've scored many goals. Okay maybe we can improve certain things, but if you look at the team performance this year I think it is better than any other season.
"We've used so many players this season. So many players have a role to play, so credit to everyone.
"We are determined to win the trophies. We care about style too, but I think it is most important to think game by game.
"We keep saying that, but it is the way to do it."
