Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is accepting boss Erik ten Hag's decision to bench him.
The Frenchman, who is retired from international football, cannot get into the United team despite being fully fit.
Varane is behind Harry Maguire in the right-sided centre half position at present.
He could play next to Maguire, as he has in the past, but that is not the preference of Ten Hag.
Per The Athletic, Varane has accepted Ten Hag's explanation that Jonny Evans can pass better from the left-sided centre half spot.
However, Varane is unlikely to be content with this role for the long-term, as he does want to play regularly.
