Man Utd defender Varane emerges as sudden Bosman prospect

Manchester United centre half Raphael Varane will be able to speak with foreign clubs in the January transfer window.

Varane, who is a free agent in the summer, can begin talking about a pre-contract with teams outside of England.

Per The Athletic, Varane's contract is not until 2025, as was first assumed by reporters.

Instead, his deal expires in June 2024, with the club having the option to extend it by one year.

Given his struggles with injuries and in getting back into manager Erik ten Hag's team, United may decide against extending the French star.

Varane, who is a Champions League and World Cup winner, has been linked to Saudi Pro League clubs.
