Marcos Rojo has turned down a summer move to the Chinese Super League.
The Manchester United defender was wanted by Sven-Goran Eriksson's Shanghai SIPG but has turned down the overtures of the Chinese outfit, according to the Daily Record.
Rojo is reportedly keen to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place in Jose Mourinho's side but it is understood that the Portuguese is eager to offload the Argentine.
Mourinho informed Rojo when he first arrived that an offer of £12million would prompt a sale but the fact he has rejected a big-money move to the Far East has made life a little more difficult for his manager.
The new United boss needs to sell Rojo before strengthening his defence but the Red Devils are struggling to find a suitor prepared to spend that sort of money on the 26-year-old former Sporting Lisbon man.
