The FA have hit back at former England U21 coach Stuart Pearce over claims that Manchester United defender Phil Jones and Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain snubbed the summer's Euros.
The Daily Mail says United defender Jones was so angered by the former Under 21 manager's claims that one of his advisers contacted the FA on Wednesday to express his feelings.
Jones is adamant he would have played for Pearce had he been selected in the squad.
The FA said in a statement: "The FA are disappointed with the comments of Stuart Pearce. It is unfair to criticise individual players. All selections were management decisions."
