Manchester United reserves boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he's turned down the Norway job.

Solskjaer revealed that he was asked to succeed Aage Hareide, who resigned after eight matches without a win.

But Solskjaer chose to remain on Sir Alex Ferguson's coaching staff at Old Trafford, where he is currently the reserve team manager.

He said: "I did not think it was the right time for me to say yes to the offer. But of course it was nice to be asked. I work for Manchester United and my career is going in the right direction.

"It would have been exciting to take on a much bigger job than my current job, but I have a job at United."

Norway have now given the job to former national coach Egil Olsen for a three-game trial period.
