Manchester United first-team coach Rene Meulensteen has hopes their current goalkeepers can reach the heights of past greats.
Meulensteen was unable to place Peter Schmeichel above Edwin van der Sar when quizzed on who was the greatest.
"It's impossible to split Schmeichel and van der Sar," Meulensteen told ManUtd.com. "It's the same thing with the world's greatest player - there's a collection of the world's greatest players.
"We were very, very fortunate to have the two of them here. They were very important and won fantastic things for us. Hopefully, we'll develop David De Gea and Anders Lindegaard in the same mould.
"Schmeichel was unique with his posturing while Edwin was very quiet and in control, there were never any worries with him. It was brilliant to have both of them and not just because the latter was one of my countrymen!"
