Manchester United are tracking Hamilton Academicals youngster Ronan Hughes.

The Daily Record says United are in pole position to sign the youngster.

Jose Mourinho already has youngsters Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah amongst his ranks at Old Trafford, but could see Hughes as a shrewd long-term investment.

The midfielder boasts huge potential and became the youngest Hamilton player to feature in the Scottish top flight when he made his debut against Inverness last season.

A move to the Premier League would see him follow in the footsteps of former Accies duo James McCarthy and James McArthur.
