Manchester United expect Sir Alex Ferguson to carry on next season.

The People says Ferguson's future seems assured for another season with kingmaker and chief executive David Gill so far having had no discussion with his 71-year-old manager about stepping down this summer.

It's understood Gill has no shortlist in place for when Ferguson says he is going.
