Wayne Rooney admitted that he did not vote for David De Gea in the Manchester United Player of the Year award.
The Spanish goalkeeper landed the prize on Tuesday night but Red Devils skipper Rooney revealed that reformed winger Ashley Young was the teammate who won his vote.
"I voted for Ashley Young. I'm sure he is [on the verge of an England recall]. He had a difficult season last year, he didn't play much, and I know he found that tough," Rooney told the Daily Mirror.
"He had a bit of stick from the fans, but he's come back, turned that around and been incredible this year, that's why I voted for him."
