Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was upset with Robin van Persie after his equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea. Van Persie whipped off his shirt and flung it in the air moments after driving a 94th-minute equaliser past Thibaut Courtois.
In line with Premier League rules, ref Phil Dowd had no option but to show a yellow card to the striker for the celebration.
And while Van Gaal was delighted to see his team come away with a draw, he was far from happy with Van Persie, who captained the side in the absence of the suspended Wayne Rooney.
"He did a stupid reaction after the goal," the United manager said.
"You can be excited but you don't have to pull your shirt off because then you have a yellow card. It is not so smart."
