Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is eager for Wayne Rooney to bring his England goalscoring form to the Premier League.
Rooney took his tally to six goals in six games for his country with his double against Scotland but has only managed three in eight for his club - the last of them coming at the end of September.
Van Gaal said: "It's always fantastic when you see he's the youngest player [for England] with 100 caps. He's receiving a cap and his sons are standing there proud, but also that the father is proud. It's fantastic to see.
"I have congratulated him - but now he has to score for Manchester United and that's important as well."
Van Gaal is impressed that Rooney is closing on the scoring records for both England and United - especially as he has not always played as an out-and-out striker.
He added: "Rooney is not a typical striker and I don't always use him as a striker. He can play as a striker but he's not a typical one. So it is remarkable that he scores so much. But that's also his extra quality. You can use Rooney in different positions. For a manager, he's a fantastic player."
