Man Utd boss Ten Hag: Van de Beek must make decision on future

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag insists Donny van de Beek is in his plans.

Van de Beek managed almost an hour of last night's win against Real Sociedad.

It is the most he has played in a single game for United since last December and Ten Hag was impressed by his efforts.

After two-and-a-half seasons at Old Trafford, during which he has started only four Premier League games, the United boss accepts Van de Beek will have to make a decision on his future at some point.

"But that can't be now," he added.

"He had a good pre-season and then he was injured.

"Last week he came in and did very well and this was a decent performance (against Sociedad).

"I know he can do better because I know him very well.

"He delivered what I expect in terms of pressing and transition. But he can be more of a threat to the opponents' goal."
