Manchester United backup Altay Bayindir made his long overdue debut for the club this weekend.
The Turkish international was in goal for the 4-2 win over Newport County in the FA Cup.
While he could not have prevented the two impressive Newport goals, Bayindir put in an assured display, according to manager Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman told reporters post-game: “I think it was a composed debut. Some good saves, so very composed.
“I think, overall, he can be happy. I was pleased with his performance."
Ten Hag is likely to restore first choice Andre Onana to the lineup when United next play, given Cameroon have been knocked out of AFCON.
