Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has explained holding back Casemiro.
Summer signing Casemiro has still only started one match for United - in a 1-0 defeat at home to La Liga's Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
Ten Hag said at today's presser ahead of facing Omonia: "I said before it had nothing to do with Casemiro, and all to do with Scott [McTominay]. When you see at Brentford when he [McTominay] wasn't in the team we lose, on the day Casemiro signed we win, we played six games we won five and in five games he [McTominay] played, in one he didn't against Sociedad.
"For me it's logical, it's competition in the team, he [McTominay] improved really well, he developed really well.
"I'm sure Casa will play a really important role, we know his background, his titles, every day in training we see he can contribute in the team and he will be a really important player in this team, I am convinced this will happen."
