Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer consulted former teammate Ryan Giggs about Swansea City winger Daniel James.

The Red Devils are reportedly close to sealing a £15m deal for the talented 21-year-old.

Metro says Solskjaer consulted Wales manager Giggs before agreeing to sign the Swans academy graduate.

The Norwegian was enquiring about James' mentality and attitude.

Giggs, who handed James his first Wales cap this season, gave Solskjaer a glowing reference about the youngster.
