Man Utd boss Solskjaer: Matic has agreed new deal

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Nemanja Matic has agreed a new deal to stay at Manchester United.

Matic, out of contract this summer, had been in talks with the club but it looked as if he would leave.

But United boss Solskjaer confirmed Matic will remain at United saying: “He will stay here. Yeah, 100 per cent. We have agreed with him so he will stay."

Signed by former United boss Jose Mourinho in a £40million deal from Chelsea in 2017, Matic had become a back-up to the first choice defensive midfield pairing of Fred and Scott McTominay.

But in the two months McTominay was out injured, Matic proved his value to help United over a difficult period and convince Soslkjaer he was worth a new contract.
