Man Utd boss Solskjaer: Laird, Williams look proper men in Europa League

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he'll continue to back the kids in their Europa League campaign.

Teenage striker Mason Greenwood scored four goals for United as they topped their group and Solskjaer claims the Europa League has proved to be a good learning experience for his youngsters.

Solskjaer has also successfully blooded teenagers James Garner, Ethan Laird and Brandon Williams in Europe.

“You've got to make the most of any opportunities and we knew this year the Europa League would be a good one," said the United boss.

“They've had great experiences these kids developing and learning, they must have learned so much."

He added: “The Under-23s league can take you so far and there's the EFL Cup, but we don't have that many games for them, so they've taken a massive stride in the Europa League.

“Against Alkmaar, Ethan came on and he looked like a proper man.

“Brandon too, you forget that he's still a young kid who didn't even come on the pre-season tour and he's establishing himself in that little group there."
