Louis van Gaal urged Paris Saint-Germain to pay more for Angel Di Maria after he was pictured in Qatar against Manchester United's permission.
Argentine winger Di Maria has been heavily linked with a £43million move to the French champions recently and all was set earlier this week for him to complete his transfer from United.
But after a picture of Di Maria and PSG's Qatari owner emerged, without United's knowledge of him even being there, van Gaal ordered the Parisian outfit to cough up an extra £3m, taking the transfer to £46m.
Di Maria had been given authorisation to speak with PSG but not to fly to Qatar which angered van Gaal.
It is understood that the former Real Madrid star underwent a medical in Doha on Tuesday and will soon be unveiled as a PSG player.
