Manchester United boss David Moyes admits they need Wayne Rooney to pick up the slack in Robin van Persie's absence.

With Van Persie due to miss eight games, Moyes needs Rooney to maintain his impressive form.

"I think he's been the key man. All this season, that's been the case," said Moyes. "What we need him to do is keep up the form and the level he's playing at."
