Manchester United boss David Moyes says Wayne Rooney knows they had no plans to sell him over the summer.
United rejected a bid from Chelsea for the striker during the close-season.
Asked if Rooney's desire to leave for Chelsea is a thing of the past, Moyes said: "The club made that known and now Wayne realises that. It's a big year for Wayne with all the records he could try to get towards. He's also got a big year towards the World Cup. He would say that last year, by his standards, wasn't his best season. You want to improve on that and he's set out his stall to show he's going to."
