Manchester United boss David Moyes has been encouraged in his pursuit of Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho. The Daily Mail says such has been Carvalho's impact at Sporting Lisbon this season that he has been dubbed the new Patrick Vieira and been watched by United scouts, and Moyes himself, no fewer than 12 times.
But despite a £37.1million release clause being inserted in his contract, Sporting have yet to bring his wage into line and are still paying him just £4,000 a month.
