Manchester United are set to make three big signings this summer as they look to challenge for major silverware next season.

According to Metro, manager Jose Mourinho wants a new left-back, centre-mid and centre-back.

The club has been strongly linked with Juventus star Alex Sandro, Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham and Fred from Shakhtar Donestk.

Fred is expected to soon arrive at Old Trafford for a fee of around £53 million, while talks are ongoing for Alderweireld.

United chiefs have reportedly sanctioned Mourinho with a £150 million budget to buy new players but this figure could rise as player sales take place.
