Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal concedes Angel di Maria's off-field dramas are affecting his form.

Di Maria was hooked at halftime of their battling win over Sunderland yesterday.

There are concerns that Di Maria has become unsettled in England after raiders attempted to break into his family home in Cheshire at the start of February.

"Of course I have already talked about the total human being principle," he said. "His environment also has an influence on him, on every human being. Me as a manager also. I have to manage that environment.

"He can do that because he is used to that. It takes more time and we will give him that time."
