Man Utd boss Ferguson won't release Ferdinand for Olympics

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has shut down talk of Rio Ferdinand playing for Team GB in the London Olympics.<

United have made a policy decision not to allow any 'overage' player to appear at the Games, except Ryan Giggs, if selected.

"There is zero per cent chance of Rio playing at the Olympics," a source told the Mail on Sunday.

It is thought that Ferguson has made 38- year-old Giggs an exception because he has never played at any international finals, and the United boss feels it fitting that the Welshman should be allowed to participate as he nears the end of his career.
