Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he considered signing Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

He revealed: "Right now Arsenal are the form team - just one defeat in 24 is a good run.

"We went to watch Adebayor once (for Monaco) but he was always injured or not playing.

"I spoke to Patrice Evra when he joined us from Monaco and he said Adebayor was really good. We did know about him.

"He is a big powerful boy - strong. He is a threat around the box and has good balance for a big guy. He has done well."
