Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has played down expectations of a clean sweep of trophies this season.
Ferguson has won 40 trophies with St Mirren, Aberdeen and Manchester United but when asked last night if he knew the figure, he replied: "I'm not exactly sure. Is it 29?"
United are going after four more trophies this season, to go with the World Club Cup they won in Japan before Christmas. The last British club to win all of their domestic trophies and the European Cup were Jock Stein's Celtic in 1967.
Ferguson, however, is dampening expectations.
"I don't think it will happen," he said. "Cup football is too fraught. One deflected shot and you can be out. I will be happy with just one trophy - the Champions League."
