Manchester United are ready to deal in veteran pair Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. Welsh wizard Giggs, 36, and former England star Scholes, 35, are both out of contract next summer.
But United boss Alex Ferguson said: "Every player who gets into his 30s starts to wonder what's going to happen.
"We will certainly be offering Ryan a new contract for next season, when he'll be 37.
"That is what we think of him, he has been amazingly consistent.
"And when you consider Paul's performance at West Ham, and at Wolfsburg in midweek, there is no reason to think he can't do it again next season as well.
"He may feel he should play in every game but, of course, he can't.
"The best way to see Paul Scholes playing like he did on Wednesday night is to gauge the games in which we think he will dominate.
"We will be offering him a contract - and he knows that."
