Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits Paul Scholes is likely to retire at the end of the season.

Scholes, 38, has struggled with injury this year.

"We'll have to see. He's got this injury and it's bothering him a lot," said Ferguson. "He'll be here next year anyway whether it's as a player or a coach.

"There comes a time when he has to quit but he's got a lot to offer us."
