Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Owen Hargreaves is still some way from making a first team return.

The 29-year-old England midfielder returned for United's second-string Thursday against Burnley after 18 months off the field following surgery on both knees to treat persistent tendinitis.

Ferguson said Friday that "Owen needs a couple more games for the reserves'' before returning to the first-team squad.

Hargreaves still hopes to make England's World Cup squad for the June 11-July 11 tournament.
