Man Utd boss Ferguson can understand Liverpool anger over Suarez ban

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson can understand Liverpool's anger over Luis Suarez's ten match ban.

Fergie says he had agreed to suspend Eric Cantona for the attack at Crystal Palace in 1995 in return for no further action being taken by the FA.

And, asked if Liverpool should have done the same, he said: "I'm bet they're glad they didn't. It didn't work with us, that's for sure."

Fergie admits he sees why Kop boss Brendan Rodgers is angry at the ban.

He said: "I can understand how Liverpool are aggrieved."
