Manchester United are believed to have joined the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, United have met with Turan and his agent and discussed the possibility of a four-year deal for a fee of £28million for the Turkish international.

Earlier this week, Turan's agent Ahmet Bulut said his client's intention was to move to the English Premier League.

"His intention is to leave Spain this summer," Bulut told Spanish daily AS.

"His will is to leave and to play in the Premier League, that is the path he would like to take to continue his career.

"We are currently in talks with three teams but I cannot reveal the names of the clubs.

"However, I can tell you that they are the best in England and in European football."
