Manchester United are prepared to compete with Arsenal for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus. The Daily Express says the Germany international was linked with a move to the Premier League during the transfer window, but remained with Jurgen Klopp's side after being promoted to vice-captain.
Arsenal were believed to be lining up a £20million bid to match Reus' release clause at the end of the season, but according to various reports United will hijack the move by making an offer in January.
The bargain price-tag doesn't come into effect until next summer, and Louis Van Gaal is confident he can tempt Dortmund to part ways with the 25-year-old sooner for a higher price.
