Manchester United are to make a sensational swap bid for Tottenham star Gareth Bale. The Daily Star says the Welsh wonder looked certain to join Madrid, with Spanish media reports suggesting the deal would be done on August 31.
However, Real are struggling to raise the funds that Spurs are after and United are ready to take full advantage.
David Moyes is willing to offer Mexico striker Javier Hernandez plus cash to facilitate the move, according to one national newspaper.
Chairman Daniel Levy wants a world-record fee for Bale, which Bernabeu chiefs want to pay over five or six years.
Levy, however, is demanding the money up front.
