Man Utd ace Rooney, Chelsea fullback Cole at scene of nightclub death

England stars Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole celebrated at the same nightclub on Sunday where a 17 year-old tourist lost his life.

The teenager from Lisbon, Portugal, collapsed in the club at approximately 1.20am, the Daily Mail reports.

He was then taken to a central London hospital where he later died.

Another man was arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs.

Manchester United ace Rooney had been at the club along with his brother Graeme and Chelsea fullback Cole after he was earlier awarded the PFA Player of the Year Award.

The player looked baffled by the commotion outside the club as he left but his spokesman claimed the footballer was "unaware of any incident having taken place".

The spokesman added: "As Wayne was leaving the club he was asked - as were all other guests - whether he had seen anything.

"He simply told police that he had seen nothing and was not aware of any incident."

Cole was relaxing in the club on the night after playing his first game for Chelsea since breaking his ankle in February.

A spokesman for Cole said the first he knew about the events of last night was as he left the club.

"Ashley was unaware of the unfortunate situation and only became aware of it as he left the club.

"He couldn't assist in any way with the inquiry because he didn't see anything or know anything about the incident."
