Former Liverpool and Benfica striker Dean Saunders has rapped Bruno Fernandes for his post-match interview after Manchester United's 1-0 win at Real Sociedad.
While praising matchwinner Alejandro Garnacho, Fernandes also revealed the Argentina U20 international had discipline issues in preseason.
Saunders insists the United midfielder was wrong to go public with the problems of his younger teammate, stating on talkSPORT: "It doesn't make sense.
"Fernandes has a habit of saying these things. It doesn't make sense to me. He's only 18 years old, he just scored a goal, he had an impact in two games. You don't say those things on television. You say these things in private if you want to help him.
"You don't do it on television. It can hurt you. If the parents are watching... If I were the manager, I would think: 'why are you saying this?'"
