Man City's Petrov crocked in Bulgaria bounce game

Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has injury concerns for star winger Martin Petrov.

The People says the left-sided midfield ace was rushed to hospital following a tackle by Brazilian defender Adelino Lopes when he was playing for Bulgaria in a friendly with Lokomotiv Sofia - days before an international with Albania.

Petrov took the impact above the ankle of his trusty left foot and there may be a possible dislocation and ligament damage, with club and country officials anxiously waiting on full scan results.

Petrov will speak to Eriksson and the backroom staff at Eastlands in the next 24 hours to sort out the problem, with the high-flying Manchester club eager to avoid losing him for their top-four bid.
