Man City's Hart hopes for Capello call

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has admitted he would be delighted to win a call-up to the England squad.

Hart has been tipped to be included in Fabio Capello's squad for this month's friendly with France after impressing at City this term.

But the England Under-21 international says not being selected would not affect him as he is happy with his progress this season.

"Being involved with England is the biggest thing you can do," Hart told the club's official website.

"If I ever get picked for the senior team then you will not be able to fit the smile on my face.

"But if I am not involved I will not be disheartened because I only have to look back on where I have come from and how quickly things have happened for me."

Eriksson has made Hart his number one goalkeeper ahead of Andreas Isaksson and Kasper Schmeichel and Hart is indebted to Eriksson for giving him his chance.

"Sven has been brilliant," added Hart.

"It would have been easy for him to go out and buy another experienced goalkeeper, but he has had the confidence in me, and a lot of other young players at the club.

"He has looked after everyone, has been very understanding and aware of what he has got at Manchester City."
