Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry is determined to fight his way back into the England squad.
Barry has vowed to fight for his England future after being overlooked for England's World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland.
"I have not spoken to the England manager, but I understand why I am not in the squad," he told mcfc.co.uk.
"My season hasn't really got going, and I am still getting over the injury.
"I am hopeful that if I can get a run in the City team, and get some games together, I will be in the next England squad. I am obviously disappointed because I want to play for my country.
"It will be frustrating for me this week because I was looking forward to a run of games, and the international break has come at the wrong time.
"But it's about making sure we are fresh again when the games come again."
