Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes plans to strengthen his squad will be wrecked by the purchasing powers of Manchester City.
Redknapp is keen on two players in particular (West Ham's Craig Bellamy and Wigan's Wilson Palacios) who are being linked with moves away from their clubs but is worried he may get be outbid for their services.
"Man City are in and when they are the others have no chance," Redknapp said.
"They just outbid and outpay. It will be difficult.
"I like Palacios. I think he is a tremendous player. The chairman is talking to Wigan.
"I read that Tottenham fans don't want Craig Bellamy - he is a terrific player and just what Tottenham need. But I don't think it'll happen."
