Manchester City have drawn up a new deal for coach Patrick Vieira.
The Daily Star Sunday says the highly-rated 38-year-old is being groomed as a future City boss.
Marseille are understood to be interested in appointing Vieira as their next coach if the axe falls on current boss Marcelo Bielsa.
The French World Cup winner is on a rolling contract, meaning City are vulnerable to losing him for relatively little compensation.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has previously said he believes Vieira could be City's new manager.
