Manchester City are chasing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
The Manchester Evening News says Real Madrid are understood to be leading the chase for Pogba, whose agent Mino Raiola claims will demand a world-record fee if he leaves Juve.
But City can challenge the Spanish giants' financial muscle, with Manuel Pellegrini expected to freshen up his squad in the summer.
City are eyeing Pogba as they look ahead to life beyond Yaya Toure.
"If the right time comes this summer, then it will happen," Raiola said.
"If it is not the right time, he could stay for another year or two."
