Manchester City are switching their attention to Porto defender Nicolas Otamendi.
O Jogo says City are turning to Otamendi after being unimpressed by Benfica's asking price for Ezequiel Garay.
Speculation earlier this year suggested that Otamendi may have already agreed to join Chelsea at the end of the season, with Jose Mourinho a known admirer of the 25-year-old.
But it seems that during City's trips to Portugal to monitor Garay, Otamendi also caught their attention, and Pellegrini could try and beat his Chelsea counterpart to the punch with a January bid.
