Manchester City are preparing a mega January offer for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets.
Reports in Monday's Italian press claim Roberto Mancini is planning a £35m raid for the 23-year-old when the next transfer window opens in the winter.
Pep Guardiola has used the defensive midfielder in the centre of defence and that versatility is believed to appeal to Mancini.
The City manager still has concerns over his midfield, particularly given Nigel De Jong's injury problems.
