Man City veteran Toure to announce international retirement

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is expected to announce his international retirement.

The Sunday Mirror says Toure has already done a self-critical review of his season - and that is likely to prompt his retirement from international football.

He feels that he felt the effects of playing too much football over the last 12 months.

After playing a key role in City's title win last season, he was hit badly by the death of his younger brother and was unable to grieve properly because of the World Cup.

He then led Ivory Coast to an Ivory Cup of Nations triumph in February.

City slumped badly during his month-long absence and Toure feels that it might be wise to call time on his 95-cap career.
