Manchester City are pursuing the signing of left back Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht.

The Citizens are set to lose out on primary target Marc Cucurella this summer.

Chelsea are set to secure the Brighton star, who was heavily linked to City earlier in the transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League champions are instead turning to 21-year-old Gomez as the solution to their left-back issue.

City need a replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko, who departed for Arsenal earlier in the window.

Gomez is represented by the agency of Pere Guardiola - manager Pep Guardiola's brother.
