Liverpool are set to pursue Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, the Reds will look to the Bosnia-Herzegovina international as a replacement for Mario Balotelli who will be offloaded after a horror debut campaign at Anfield.
Dzeko, 29, has three years to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium but the fact he has started just 11 times in the Premier League this season might prompt him to look elsewhere for regular game time.
With Brendan Rodgers likely to get rid of Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini at the end of the season, there is sure to be a spot open up for Dzeko who could form a dangerous pairing with Divock Origi who will join the Reds this summer following his loan spell with Lille.
Dzeko, who joined City from Wolfsburg in 2011, would reportedly cost the Merseysiders around £25million.
