Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has been summoned to Italy to give evidence in a mafia trial.
The Daily Mail says Balotelli has been called to give evidence to prosecutors on September 15 - the day after City play Napoli at home in the Champions League - because he is said to have been taken on a guided tour of the Scampia district of the Italian city by known mobsters.
The striker, 21, learned of the summons when police visited Italy's training camp ahead of this week's Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovenia.
There is no suggestion he is involved with the mafia, but prosecutors investigating the Lo Russo family want to know who showed him around and why.
