Man City starlet Foden: Lockdown breach was toughest moment of my career

Manchester City youngster Phil Foden admits breaching lockdown regulations with England two months ago was the toughest moment of his career.

Foden and Manchester United's Mason Greenwood were sent home in September during an international break.

They invited two women to their hotel rooms in Iceland.

Foden has worked his way back into the squad, and scored twice for England in a 4-0 win over Iceland in the Nations League on Wednesday.

He also had an assist in the game.

"It was one of the hardest moments of my life," Foden told Sky Sports.

"That's the time you need the trust of your manager and Gareth had a lot of respect for me and it means everything to me. I just wanted to repay him with goals and do well.

"I was just determined to come back and do the best I can. I was a little bit nervous at the start of this camp but I got used to it after a while."
